Nullhaus is a global society for people working across eight areas of modern technology. Twice a month, a small, invitation-based circle meets to speak plainly about problems that don’t have easy answers. Whatever comes out of that room, we publish. Free, to anyone.

Our Pillars
Eight fields. One standard for what counts as a real conversation.

Cybersecurity
Detection engineering, incident response, application and cloud security, identity, and threat intelligence. The recurring gap is rarely a missing control. It is the distance between what a program can actually detect and what it reports as covered.

Artificial Intelligence
Applied machine learning and LLM systems: evaluation harnesses, retrieval quality, inference cost and latency, tool use, and the security of a model that can act. Most failures live in the pipeline around the model, not in the model.

Software Engineering
System design, code review, testing strategy, dependency and supply-chain risk, and the migrations nobody finishes. Most incidents trace back to a reasonable decision made months earlier, under deadline, with less context than the postmortem assumes.

Cloud & Infrastructure
Architecture, networking, identity and access, capacity, cost, and the infrastructure-as-code meant to describe all of it. What separates a resilient platform from a nominally redundant one is blast radius: which failure domains are genuinely independent.

Data Engineering & Analytics
Pipelines, warehouse modeling, data contracts, and the checks that decide whether a number can be trusted. Data systems rarely fail loudly. They keep serving plausible figures, which is what makes detection the hard part.

DevOps & SRE
Delivery pipelines, observability, service level objectives, on-call practice, and incident review. Reliability is a budgeting problem before it is an engineering one: decide in advance how much failure you can afford.

Blockchain & Web3
Protocol and consensus design, smart contract security, key management and custody, and cross-chain bridges. The useful question is never whether a system is decentralized. It is who can change it, who can stop it, and where those keys live.

Product & UX
Discovery, interface and interaction design, onboarding, and honest measurement. “We built it and it works” is a different claim from “someone needed this and can use it.” This pillar holds the other seven to the difference.

Sessions find their people
Invitations follow the theme, not the job title. When a session matches what you actually work on, you may be asked in: live, online, off the record.

Access the library
Every recorded session, field guide, and briefing we publish is yours, whether or not you were ever in the room.

A few are invited further
Past a certain point, a small number of members are asked into something smaller still.

The House.
Past the open door is a smaller room. We don’t publish who’s in it, what happens there, or how the invitation arrives. Some things Nullhaus does in public; this isn’t one of them. If it’s meant for you, you’ll know.

A Note From The Founder
“I’ve spent years in rooms where the most useful sentence of the day was said after the cameras stopped rolling. Nullhaus is an attempt to keep more of that sentence, and get it to people who were never in the room to begin with. I didn’t start this to build another platform. I started it because the best people in this field are tired of performing for an audience, and the rest of the world still deserves to learn from them.”
Frequently Asked
Is Nullhaus really free?
Yes. Membership, the library, field guides, and briefings cost nothing, regardless of where you live or work. We’re a nonprofit; we don’t sell access.
Do I need an invitation to join?
No. Anyone can join the general network at nullhaus.org. Invitations apply to the two monthly gatherings, The Assembly and The Roundtable, which stay small on purpose.
Are sessions online or in person?
Online by default. Every Assembly and Roundtable session currently happens live over video, which is how we keep the circle global without asking anyone to fly somewhere every month. As the network matures, we plan occasional in-person gatherings in select cities. Those remain the exception, not the rule.
What does Nullhaus sell?
Nothing. There’s no product and no pitch. The gatherings exist to solve problems and compare notes, not to sell anything to anyone in the room.
Is this only for cybersecurity people?
No. Cybersecurity is where we started, but the society now spans eight pillars: cybersecurity, AI, software engineering, cloud & infrastructure, data engineering & analytics, DevOps & SRE, blockchain & web3, and product & UX. Many of our best conversations happen where those fields collide.
